Simple, dramatic, beautiful…this is how I reacted to this photo book created by a wonderful colleague of mine at Shutterfly. Recently married, Alexia and her husband, Diego, had two ceremonies in their home country of El Salvador– the civil ceremony is celebrated in this book entitled Nuestra Boda Civil (Our Civil Ceremony).

I wanted to highlight this story, not to intimate anyone with its beautiful photos (and beautiful people!), but to highlight a couple of things that inspired me about this book (which Alexia tells me took only an hour or two to make); first, this book is a combination of pictures taken professionally and by friends – a great way to combine the beautiful creative shots with the more fun and crazy ones. Secondly, I followed and was engaged in the “the story” despite the fact that there is no text – this is a fine example of how pictures really tell a thousand words! Finally, I love the way Alexia artfully combined the color and black and white pictures – a nice touch, I thought.
