The ABCs of photo booking

ck_abc-book_final.jpgWe’ve recently launched a partnership with Creating Keepsakes, the leading publisher of scrapbooking magazines. They are contributing the expertise of their celebrity designers to help us create beautiful photo book templates that help you tell your story. We’re describing the partnership as scrapbook elegance meets online convenience.

The ABC’s of You photo book designed by Jessica Sprague is the perfect project for the first-time or experience photo book creator.

The most obvious use case is for a young child – to help them learn the alphabet by using photos of favorite objectives, family and friends. JenniferM1497’s “ ABCs for Colin” is a great example of this use case.

But, you can use the existing template of ABCs and write descriptors for a loved one. ErinL155’s “ All About Matthew” is an example of this type of book.

Finally, don’t forget you can rearrange the letters to spell out words or phrases to tell your story. My photo book, “ Eight Years Old,” spells out that phrase with words describing my oldest daughter to celebrate her recent birthday.

Before getting started, see Jessica’s article on how to get started on her book, and check out her book, The ABCs of You. Then share your book to the Shutterfly Gallery to the Creating Keepsakes occasion when it’s done.

This is one of my favourite projects on Shutterfly! It is so effective and looks so professional. With relatively little effort you can produce a stunning digital scrapbook that is personal and just plain eye-catching. There is so much you can do with this template- from teaching your children about the ABC’s in their lives to making a memoir of special moments along the alphabet. Furthermore, you get to use all sorts of ‘arbitrary’ shots that would otherwise just sit on your hard-drive and give them wings.

You can think in the box or go lateral … there are so many options available and you can add more pages too … I had to … there were so many ‘d’ (daddy), ‘f’ (like fireman) and ’s’ (like snow,) words in my son’s alphabet, that I just had to add in pages! What an awesome idea! Thank you to Jessica for sharing her truly inspirational creation and for making it available to all of us.
