Fresh Starts with a Family Recipe Book

family-recipe_final.jpgAn interesting phenomena I’ve spotted a couple of times is the recipe book as family history book. It makes sense that families would consider recipes as a part of their story, including photos that spanned generations, in the cookbook. What I love about some of the Gallery examples is that the recipient is a younger generation, presumably heading off on their own, accompanied by this book of food and family memories.

A “ Graduation Recipe Book” made for a niece’s high school graduation from JujuB211 includes some basic recipes that a novice cook could easily try. I love how she’s also included encouraging words around some of the recipes as well as worldly advice for her niece’s new endeavors.

KarenD481’s photo book for her daughter, “ Mandy’s Family Recipes and Photographs,” included contributions from many members of the extended family, with photos of those individuals spanning decades on those relevant pages.
