I’m so inspired by everyone’s books that I want to dig through albums and CD’s, and put everything in photobooks! I hope they keep this site up for a long time. I’ve gotten so many ideas!  I love taking pictures of nieces and nephews, and family. I’m not a professional by any means, just a fun hobby and Shutterfly has made it even more exciting!

I am a mom to four great kids. I love photography and scrapbooking. I am currently a digital designer at www.seasidescraps.com. I create digital scrapbook kits and premade photobook pages for others to easily scrap their own photos. I recently started making books for family and friends…..I am so hooked! Of all the gifts I have ever given, I think the photobooks will be the most treasured.

I’ve always loved to take photo’s but once I had children and then the development of digital was all I needed to discover my inner child. I love to take photo’s of my children and family. I create yearbooks that document what we have done and the accomplishments they or we have made. I also do travel/trip books and my absolute favorite is my Disney book for 2007.

I love pictures! Old, new, indifferent. Not just my own, ALL pictures. Which is why this community is so much fun for me. I picked up my first digital camera in ‘03 and instantly became addicted to “fly”. I just wish I had free time for photography and to make digital scrapbooks and photobooks! And now Brayden is my biggest inspiration ever!

I began traditional scrapbooking when my two grandchildren, ages 4 and 5, were born. A friend introduced me to digital scrapbooking over a year ago and we joke about our addiction. I do two books a year for each child which chronicle their visits with us. I always look forward to putting together my next Shutterfy book.

I love taking pictures - especially of our family events - I’m the family “event planner”. My husband & I finally have our first grandchild (after waiting for many years!) We live in Northern BC, Canada with 2 cats & 2 dogs

I am here since 2007 and looking forward for a long relationship. Everything started when I was visiting my family in Israel and saw a photo book from a domestic company at my friend’s house. I got so exited and decided that there is no way that we don’t have something like this here in US. So I Searched the internet for couple of hours and finally got myself to Shutterfly website - that was it!

A picture paints a thousand words… photos inspire, teach, recreate memories, elicit emotions and allow us to daydream for just a moment… My husband and I love to take photos of life- great and small… and can think of no better way to preserve our memories than with Shutterfly’s wonderful photographic tools. We travel a lot through Africa, Europe and America…

I’m an Air Force brat that caught the travel bug from birth; I was born in Marrakesh, Morocco. The photography bug was acquired only about 5 years ago. The only thing I love more than traveling is photography. I now live in the Midwest USA and still travel whenever I have the opportunity, along with my Sony Alpha DSLR.

I am a wife and a mommy to two beautiful kids, a boy and a girl. Photographing my son when he was born developed my love for photography! I am starting a business in my small town and doing quite well really. This is why I love shutterfly! They really have everything that I need to run my business successfully.

My family is my greatest joy and priority. My husband, Nate, and I have been married for 9 years. We have 2 beautiful daguters, Analyn is 5 and Halia is 4. We also have a newborn son, Clark. I really enjoy scrapbooking, especially digital scrapbooking. I also enjoy interior decorating, fashion trends, reading, writing, and baking. I love the holidays.

I’m a SAHM to two beautiful little girls and I am addicted to Shutterfly Photo Books. They say the first step is admitting it. I started with traditional scrapbooking. Paper, glue and a HUGE MESS of supplies. I’m a very messy scrapper. Luckily, along came digital scrapbooking and Shutterfly.

I am a stay at home mom who loves taking pictures of my children. Black and white photos are my favorite. Shutterfly books are my new passion. It makes me want to be a better photographer and learn more. I am now always thinking about subject matters for new books. I just love putting them together for family and friends and to update my family’s own library.

My name is Vickie Perkins and I live in the midwest. I am inspired by genealogy, family history, old photographs and passed down stories as told by the oldest generations that can tell the tales. I find Shutterfly the perfect place to organize my discovered treasures. Old census documents, digitized slides and scans of old snapshots come to life here! Please take a look at my photobooks and meet my world.

Shutterfly has inspired me to be more creative in preserving our family memories. My books include not only photos but also quotes and drawings, as well as scanned artwork and crafts from my children. I have taken the time and pulled out my old photo albums, scanned the images and recreated my old albums using Shutterfly. What a great way to make these memories last forever!

I started my first photo book when I was pregnant with my third child… the pictures were getting overwhelming and my disorganization would wake me up at night! My mother is a photographer and her pictures are outstanding… I needed to be able to display them appropriately but was not into scrapbooking. I worked my way back in time creating “yearly review” books, birthday books and holiday books all the way back to 2001 (the year my first was born!). I am up to date and the envy of all my friends… all thanks to shutterfly’s 8X8 photo books (and mom’s pictures of course!)… they were truly life changing and I believe I have saved myself a few wrinkly worry lines! :)

Scrapbooking is becoming my new passion! Ok… so now I am addicted to Digital Scrapbooking! I just can’t get enough of it and I can’t wait to start on my next book. I’ve always been interested in creating scrapbooks but never had the time and now I can create one book and get various copies all at once! It is great. I am always looking for new ideas and I am sure that you will be seeing lots of my books online, so feel free to comment! I appreciate any and all comments! thanks!

I love taking pictures!! It started as a hobby and has turned into something that I would like to do professionally. Everyday is filled with little moments that you never want to forget. It’s just fun to know that you really got the perfect shot and you really captured the moment as it happened. It’s a way for me to treasure my son’s youth and never forget any of it.

As a long-time film photographer, building my basement darkroom when a teen-ager, I first fought digital but have become a convert. My first order from Shutterfly was in 2002, and I’ve placed 88 orders (for prints, enlargements to 20×30, calendars and about a dozen photo books) since then. I’m thrilled with the quality of their products.

I’ve been an amateur photographer for over 30 years. Most of that time I used film camera, but I’ve been using digital camera almost exclusively for the last 9 years. I first used a variety of “point and shoot” digital cameras, but now I use only digital SLRs. I like to create photo books by using my photos to help to tell stories for both entertainment and education. Some of the books are created as “children’s books” while others are aimed for a larger range of readership. While I hope others will enjoy what I create, I get great personal enjoyment in the creation process itself.

I truly love Shutterfly, of course I love pictures. I think everyone here does. I love to make these books to show my family how much I love them and hope that they will be around long after I am gone to show our future family just how much I love pictures and how important it is to savor these memories with great pictures and journaling. I have told everyone I know about Shutterfly and all of the wonderful things you can do at the website. Hope you enjoy the few albums I have done!

I love pictures, and Shutterfly allows me to create books without cutting, gluing, or using a scrapbook. My husband and son are my inspiration. My family and I like to travel and see what the new day brings. Visit my Shutterfly website http://kelliskorner.site.shutterfly.com. I look forward to hearing from you, and let me know when you have a book posted. I love viewing all the awesome books in the gallery!

I am a mother of 3. I have a son 9 and twin daughters that are 8. Have been happilly married for 11 years. Have been fortunate to been able to stay home with my children so far. For the past 3 years I have been doing photography part time. It has become a passion of mine, along with making these books! I tell everyone I know about them and encourage all to make them. For me I think of them as an heirloom. I know someday my children will fight over them.

I love pictures of old and new, and I carry my camera everywhere I go. It’s an extension of me. My family knows they are going to have their pictures taken and have grown accustomed to it. I love to take pictures of my grandbaby and anything else that catches my attention. Remember (as the Pottery Barn album says) ‘No one ever took a picture of something they wanted to forget’. I like looking at your pictures too, the stories that are being told thru photobooks are great and oh so inspiring for me. Now I want to do more and better. I feel as though I have at last found a group of people I can whole heartedly connect with thru pictures. Thanks for the inspiration!

I have two wonderful sons and an amazing husband who have indulged my interest in capturing our family memories - sometimes begrudgingly and sometimes with bribery! But despite their occasional groaning, I privately smile each time a new album from Shutterfly arrives and they count the number of images to see who has more and who Mom loves best!

I love being a mom! I adore my boys, and take too many pictures of them… this I know. While I flirted with photography for many years, the day my oldest son was born was the day my passion for photography was fully charged. I started taking pictures of my friends little ones and now run a small professional photography business called Everyday Studios. I love working with families to help preserve memories in the form of albums and artwork.

It’s great being part of the Shutterfly Gallery Guru team. I’m in the Travel Category and I love searching for new, exciting photobooks posted by the Shutterfly members. Travel is an experience that’s unique to each person and you can see that by the great photos taken and posted here. Everyone sees things differently and it’s wonderful to see that reflected through a camera lens. Whether the photo is accompanied by commentary or not, you can share the travel experience. Thank you to everyone for making Shutterfly one of the best photo sites online!

How fun to see all my fellow Guru’s on one page and see who you are and what your interests are. We all have a common interest of Shutterfly. Isn’t it awesome. I’ll have to check out some books who’s Gallery pages i have not visited yet.
Its nice to meet you all, and welcome to the Guru team.

  3. LInda Erkelens Says:

I am enjoying being a Shutterfly Gallery Guru. I am assigned to cover several Travel categories. What isn’t covered in my profile is how much I enjoy taking family photos as well as underwater photography. My grandchildren, ages 8 and 10 were given digital cameras for Christmas. They visited us in New Zealand for the holidays. I had fun putting together a Shutterfly Photo Album of their pictures and mine. They were thrilled and were very pleased to each receive their own copies. My son says that one sits on the coffee table and every visitor to their house is shown the book with pride. Two years earlier I did a book for each of them chronicling the previous 5 years of their lives. Ashley’s book arrived a day ahead of Josh’s book and he was so disappointed that I hadn’t done one for them. Both kids took their books in for “Show an Tell”. I now take several of my underwater photo books on dive boats with me. Everyone is so amazed and I have to write down http://www.shutterfly.com for each of them. The Amazing thing for me about being a Shutterfly Guru is how much I am learning from other photographers’ books. I realize how ordinary many of my land pictures are. I see amazing talent in the location and angle from which they take their photos. I only wish that I had flagged some of them as “Favorites” so that I could go back and study them again. I also want to suggest that you try printing your photos on Canvas through Shutterfly. I did a dozen of my underwater photos on canvas and the results look like they were painted. The colors came through beautifully. I printed a photo of a red row boat reflecting on water that I took in Lisbon. It is one of my best photos ever and looks terrific on canvas. It is a impressive way to show case my photos along with Photo Books and the Gallery. The Row Boat Photo is in my Queen Mary trip Gallery entry if you would like to take a look. I like seeing the Guru’s all on one page. I have reviews many of the same books as CynthiaY2 and I enjoyed learning about her.
Shutterfly - You have many terrific ideas and have implemented it very well. I have done books on 3 other sites and the process on each of them was very difficult to use and one crashed regularly. The Shutterfly site works so well and it seems to be continually improved. I wanted black pages and they added it.
Gurus and Shutterfly - Keep up the good work.

I feel so humbled to be amongst the other “Gurus” when I look at the beautiful work you have all created. You are all truly inspirational to me and I can see why you are Gurus! Shutterfly’s photo books sit proudly on our coffeetable and invariably begin some sort of interesting conversation. It is wonderful to have the opportunity to create something that looks so professional of our own. Our first photobook, ‘Europe 2003′, looks so bare-bones compared to what is available now with respect to templates, lay-outs and backgrounds, among other options. We have almost as much fun making up the photo books with our memories as in creating them during our travels. Coming from South Africa, I love having this sort of service at my fingertips … I’m hoping to create many more to show everyone back home! :)
I look forward to seeing more of you books in the future!

I love Shutterfly! What can I say! The same friend that introduced me to digital scrapbooking introduced me to Shutterfly. I jumped into ds with both feet and I never looked back and I jumped into Shutterfly with the same amount of enthusiasm. Would you believe that before Shutterfly I bought an oversized printer that printed out my 12″ x 12″ pages and then I would insert them into the page holders of various scrapbooks that I would buy when they were on sale. I had just finished our cruise scrapbook this way. I had spent $250 on ink, special size paper, page holders, and the album itself. It was two inches thick and it was very nice I thought at the time. But after fighting with my printer because of the muddy face tones I decided to try Shutterfly for my grandchildrens’ books in July of 2007. WOW! They were beautiful and the adults at the birthday party kept passing them around not missing a page. The process was so simple compared to what I had been doing before. Plus…they were so professional, superb quality, and best yet……….much less expensive. I was definitely hooked. Needless to say, I have done several books and I have been thrilled with each and every one of them. I shopped for two weeks both online and locally for a cruise scrapbook. Now I design my own. Whenever my friends or relatives come over they glance over at the coffee table and ask….”have you done any more books yet?” And now when I want to take photos of my grandchildren and they are reluctant, all I have to say is “I need photos for your book” and they cooperate fully! You see, they love them too! So for you digital scrappers………jump on in….the water is fantastic.

  7. Deidre Says:

Where should we go for photo book technical questions? I’ve just started, but am totally hooked! I am putting together a book about my 10 year old son’s acting experience in a movie he just finished. On the title page, I want to do a preface or dedication, so I want text only. The only layout choices I am given for the title page include a picture. Since I have saved this page for last, I have truly used all my pictures, and don’t want to change anything to accomodate a picture here!

    Help!

When I started, I selected the “recipe” style, just because I wondered if it gave me more text options. It didn’t seem to lock me into anything since each page seemed to give me many layout and color choices. Do the styles truly limit us?

  8. Rachel B Says:

    Hi Dierdre,

To create a blank title page with text, choose one of our title page layout options that includes space for copy, but don’t upload a photo. This will give you the background and text only (there is room to write a few short lines).

Since our title page templates don’t allow much room for text, I suggest adding a text-only page just after - see “TEXT” option in layout section when you’re creating your book pages.

For more information you can also click on the “help” link at the top of our web page.

    Hope that helps!

I cant say enough about how much fun this site is…:)

  10. Tammy M. Says:

I just love being on the Guru Team. I love Shutterfly. I have found so many things I can do with my pictues and mementos on Shutterfly and made many people happy at holidays and birthdays. I have passed the photo craze onto my children. My 21yr daughter & my 17yr old son has a digital camera in which they take lots of pics. I bought my son the camera for a birthday and his first trip to Chicago on a school trip I asked him to make sure and take lots of pics so I could enjoy the trip through his pics since I would not be going with him. He kept his promise and come home with nearly 200 pics of all the sites of Chicago. I was thrilled, I put all the pics together into a Shutterfly photo album and he took it to school and the teacher loved it so much she kept it for a week and it went to the Board of Education to showcase how important these trips are to our kids to travel and go on these adventures. My photo books mean the world to me, I do traditional scrapbooking with glue and paper but have completely fell in love with my photo albums from Shutterfly, especially since I finally gave in and went digital this year in March with my new baby Canon EOS 40D. Thanks to Shutterfly for such great ideas and products and thanks to the fellow Shutterfly members for great ideas and inspiration.

  11. Ann Abbott Says:

I am very proud to say that I am now a part of the Shutterfly Guru Team! I am so happy to be able to be a link between Shutterfly and all of the Shutterfly memembers. I gives me a chance to be helpful, if I can, and make new friends just by viewing and commenting on books. The Gallery gives me so many new ideas for my own books and as a result I am so pleased to pass on a really unique books for the rest of the Guru’s to view and to be featured. I am really excited that Shutterfly has given me a chance to explore something I always loved…photographs and photography. Just by being able to create all that I can on Shutterfly, it has inspired me to really take my photography to another level. Thanks Shutterfly!
