Remembering the life of a favorite family pet is a frequent subject of Gallery books. RobinS56’s “
Cooper” was an original take on this type of story.
In addition to photos of Cooper taken throughout his life, there are original blog entries from the cat that really shine a light on this cat’s personality. From his southpaw tendencies, to his disinterest of catnip (which only 20% of cats share with him) to his review of the best cat toys ever, Cooper was full of opinions.
I’m not sure if these blog entries were done over the cat’s lifetime or done especially for this tribute book, but I think of the many blogs I’ve seen, which also provide unique observations that chronicle similar day-to-day memories of families or individuals. These entries make great photo book fodder accompanied by photos.

Cooper is a fantastic book, and has inspired me to create more detailed entries in my work. I love the journaling in Cooper, especially the page about his favorite toy. Thanks for bringing this humorous and inspiring book to our attention.

I love this book. I forwarded it to my sister and my friend, Lynette in New Zealand who both have lost cats. I especially like the picture on the “Roof-Stalker” page. The way Cooper is set against the sky on the roof is so beautiful. We live in New Zealand half the year and one time a neightborhood cat came across our second floor roof, into the guest room and walk right across our house guest. Your picture and description brought back memories. The lighting on Cooper on p12 sets the mood and enhances the eyes. I also wish I knew how to do 3 pictures on a double page the way you did. I was glad that there was a help that taught me how to increase the page size so I could read all your marvelous comments on the pictures and your beloved cat’s life. Your book is an inspiration to take pictures, organize them and put them into a very special memory book. I learn so much from looking at books like yours and right now I feel very warm and fuzzy so “Good Night, not Moon, but Cooper”

Cooper’s Book is such a true and pure book. The photos are amazing and capture the true essence of his personality and lifestyle. What a clever and interesting kitty. After seeing all of the work and beautiful photos that went into Cooper’s book , I am now realizing I should take more photos of my own cat.
Thanks for highlighting this book.
