We all love those gorgeous vista shots and panoramas. They capture our eye and our imagination. But what helps us remember those special moments are the little things, so be sure to include these details when you record your travels. Like a delicious looking dessert, a pattern in the sand, the face of a cat, a fantastic looking shoe in a window. Whatever strikes your fancy and helps you remember a particular moment.
Check out “ Holiday Jamaica Christmas 2007” by ‘HollyF19’ for some nice detail shots of Jamaica - gecko on a giant leaf, feet digging into the sand, white ceramic cup filled with morning coffee.

Hi Rachel,
I agree with what you say. It’s often the small stuff that makes the trip so meaningful… and is far more likely to bring back a special travel memory than a perfect postcard shot .. .although those have the WOW-factor! I also like to capture the bits that go seemingly unnoticed… like a white pooch napping in the doorway of a house in Dubrovnik, or pigeons drinking out of an ancient fountain, or the ruggedness of old railway sleepers on a train trip, or the harmony of a perfect stone on a beautiful beach … the list goes on and on. Together, the impressive ‘big’ shots and then the meaningful ‘by-the wayside’ shots make a travel story complete and unique to the storyteller.
