Rainbow Hunt Book

rainbowbook.jpgI’m always on the lookout for projects in the Shutterfly Gallery that can connect young children with photo books. TiffanyM198’s “ Rainbow Book” is an original example I had not seen before.
As the title implies, this book is all about different colors. It appears it was done as a school project, so not only are everyday objects captured and labeled with their respective colors, but the students  celebrated each color with what they wore and what they ate! I can see the students sitting down with the simple captions and brightly colored pages and ‘reading it’ to themselves and their classmates.
What a simple and yet spectacular book for kids that would make a great summer project. Share your other ideas for connecting children and photo books in Shutterfly Gallery.

I have seen this idea used in preschools to teach colors. The color of the day! I think there are simple ideas like this that books can be made to teach children about everyday things. And the best part with Shutterfly is that you can personailze the book for the child. If the child loves dogs…make a book about counting dogs….if the child loves cooking make about learning measurements…and of couse have pictures of the child thought out the book. You cover 3 really cool things….teaching, a gift for a child and a keepsake book!!
