When we think about what to include in a photo book, friends and family are usually the first subjects that come to mind. But the circle of our lives is much larger than this, especially if we pursue special interests and hobbies like charity work, or sports, or the arts. Some of my favorite books are those which focus on what we love to do and the people we love doing it with.
‘ A Dramatic Love Story‘ by FullColorLifeofKia is definitely more than your average wedding book, because it includes the author’s entire circle of theatre colleagues - everyone who travelled in a National Tour of ‘A Christmas Carol’. Not only do we get to go on the author’s journey of courtship, we also get to experience bright lights and curtain calls. I especially love that the bride and groom played husband and wife in the show. And the best part of this story is that the actress playing the bride and groom’s daughter, also played their young matchmaker in real life.
In the inspirational photo book ‘ Team Alabama 2008‘, Saras327 shows us her group’s strong commitment to Team Alabama and the game of baseball. I love the on-field action shots, and the off-field moments where team members and families are relaxing together. The last page with the players in a pre-game huddle gives me goosebumps.
One of my favorite books in Gallery tells the story of a retired dentist and his wife, who help families across the world stay healthy through a Worldwide Dental program. This volunteer team makes a huge difference to many families and their children, and you can see it in every page. So much hard work, and so many smiling faces.
What groups do you belong to, and how would you capture those team experiences in a photo book? Let us know by commenting on this blog. And if you have a photo book you’d like to share, we welcome you to post it on Shutterfly Gallery.

I really enjoyed all three of these books you showcased. They showed me to be more creative in my own photobooks.
Thanks for sharing this article.

I just found a really good group book that I thought I’d pass on. It’s by JudyD44 and it’s called the Saucer Sisters.

I just loved the Team Alabama book, I plan to use that same book style to do my son’s Senior Baseball Book for him and his teammates. Thanks for the great ideas and thanks to Shutterfly for giving us such great products to work with to create keepsakes for our family and friends to last a lifetime.

I enjoyed the team book of the Shutterfly Customer Service team “The Blue Wave”. Those times come few and far between that you love your job and you love the people you work with and work is fun and a pleasure. And when the times are good you know they wont last that long and the dynamic will change again. A team book is a perfect way to remind yourself that the stars and moon don’t line up that way too offen.
