Celebrate the celebration

by Rachel-B | Posted in Stories we like, Techniques

The most enjoyable holiday parties I’ve attended are the ones that include my digital camera. If you’re asking yourself why I would drag a camera to a party and then start take pictures, let me give you a few good reasons.

  1. Effective dieting technique – taking photos keeps me from the food table and all those high calorie snacks

  2. Excellent ice breaker – starting a conversation is easy when you’ve got a camera in hand. All you have to say is “cheese”

  3. Smiling faces – when people see a camera pointing their way, they always smile – and what could be better than an evening of smiling faces?

  4. Big thank yous – your host will appreciate the extra snaps because they help round out the party memories.  If you’re the host, I don’t even have to tell you that taking pictures is a must. All your hard work deserves visual recognition.

Cameras aren’t my only holiday friend. I am also going to create a Shutterfly Share Site devoted to my holiday experiences. Setting up a Share Site takes just a few minutes, and once it’s up I can invite fellow holiday party goers to view and purchase their favorite shots, plus upload their own.

Shutterfly photo books are another great way to make holiday party memories. I can inspire friends and family by posting the book on my Share Site, or inspire Shutterfly visitors by posting it to our Public Gallery.

Still need a little more Holiday inspiration? Check out these festive photo books.

Great article Rachel. My digital friend is always with me too. Sometimes i’ll be flashing away, without people realizing it, then they’ll say sarcasticly that the paparrazzi is here! I keep on snapping anyway. It is fun to get pictures of food and of everyone together. And they all want to see the photos after. The holidays are here - yikes!
    Thanks for sharing this article.

I like to sneak around very special events that I have been invited to like wedding and take pictures. Then in the past I would give the photos to the parties honored at the celebration. But now I make them photo books! I always have camera in hand…..so what out!

I always have my camera, it is a perfect party friend or any celebration. Always making memories and my family do get annoyed sometimes but it is only temporary until they see the Shutterfly Books and it always brings a smile.
