If you make it, they will remember

by Susie-L | Posted in Stories we like

football.jpgI’ll never forget that scene at the end of “Field of Dreams” when Kevin Costner’s character is playing catch with a much younger version of his own dad. And they’re sharing an impossible moment that’s every adult’s secret dream—to have known their parents when they were young. Or maybe that’s the parent’s dream—to somehow show their grown kids that they were once young and in many cases still feel a lot younger than would appear on the outside. I wish that for my own kids. You’ll never know how wild and crazy I was in college or how silly and playful I am with you now.

A Year in Review in 10 Photos

by LaraH | Posted in Stories we like

bestof2007.jpgI’ve seen many year in review photo books in Gallery, but none with just 10 photos. Mplusmequalsl’s “2007 Favorites” is a must see for anyone who wants to tackle this effort.

She tells her family’s year in review story in just 10 photos (not counting the collaged cover) and relies heavily on journaling a caption for each photo that explains the memory and significance of the selected pictures. I was so impressed, I MOLT’d her book for my story of a 4th of July weekend camping trip.

I Love You Because

loveubecaysefathersday2008.jpgThis is another popular Father’s Day photo book sentiment. It’s simple and it allows kids in on the action of telling the story in their gift to dad (assisted by mom of course).
CrystalB150’s “Father’s Day” is a simple and sweet version of this type of book. MeganM653’s “My Daddy… I Love You Because” offers more personalized reasons to thank her husband with and additional adorable photos.

Travel Stories Told in Character

chichi.jpgMany travel photo books are posted to Gallery and shared in person so that others who couldn’t enjoy the trip are able to get a taste for the excitement of the adventure. MelindaM54 has a unique twist on creating a travel book to share with others.
